Human Appeal Development Organization Celebrates Graduation of Youth from 4½-Month Entrepreneurship Training in Juba

Juba, South Sudan – 2024 – Human Appeal Development Organization (HADO) proudly celebrated the graduation of the first batch of youth corps from Juba City Council who successfully completed a four-and-a-half-month intensive Entrepreneurship Training Program at Buluk Vocational Training Center in 2024. The program, designed to equip young women and men with practical business development skills, focused on entrepreneurship fundamentals, financial literacy, business planning, marketing strategies, savings culture, and resilience building. The initiative aimed to address youth unemployment and economic vulnerability by strengthening self-reliance and supporting sustainable income-generating activities. The graduation ceremony brought together representatives from government institutions, development partners, community leaders, and private sector stakeholders. A key highlight of the event was the participation of the USAID Mission Director for South Sudan, who awarded certificates to outstanding trainees in recognition of their commitment and achievement. The attached photo captures a proud moment as one of the graduates receives his certificate from the USAID Mission Director for South Sudan, symbolizing the strong partnership and shared commitment to youth empowerment and economic development in the country. Speaking during the ceremony, HADO’s leadership reaffirmed the organization’s dedication to promoting youth-led entrepreneurship as a pathway to peace, stability, and inclusive growth in South Sudan. “Young people are the drivers of transformation. By investing in their skills and business potential, we are investing in the future of our communities,” the organization noted. Over the course of the training, participants developed practical business ideas, conducted local market assessments, and prepared actionable business plans. Graduates are now better positioned to start or expand small enterprises in sectors such as retail, agribusiness, services, and crafts, contributing to local economic recovery and job creation. This initiative aligns with national priorities to empower youth, reduce poverty, and strengthen economic resilience at the community level. Human Appeal Development Organization remains committed to expanding access to vocational and entrepreneurship opportunities, particularly for vulnerable and marginalized youth in urban and peri-urban areas. HADO extends its appreciation to development partners, including USAID, community stakeholders, and Buluk Vocational Training Center for their collaboration and continued support in empowering the next generation of entrepreneurs.
