Kulipapa Boma, Ganji Payam, Juba County, Central Equatoria State, South Sudan – 2024 — Human Appeal and Development Organization (HADO) successfully conducted the distribution of hygiene kits to adolescent girls and women in Kulipapa Boma, strengthening dignity, health, and protection for vulnerable community members.
The 2024 initiative targeted at-risk girls and women in Kulipapa Boma, located in Ganji Payam, Juba County, Central Equatoria State, South Sudan, where access to essential menstrual hygiene materials remains limited.
Each hygiene kit included sanitary pads, underwear, soap, and other personal hygiene supplies designed to support safe menstrual hygiene management and improve overall well-being. The distribution was accompanied by awareness sessions on personal hygiene, menstrual health, and infection prevention to ensure informed and sustainable use of the materials.
The intervention aims to:
- Promote menstrual hygiene management and dignity
- Reduce health risks associated with poor sanitation
- Improve school attendance and participation among adolescent girls
- Strengthen protection and confidence for women and girls
A representative from HADO emphasized the importance of addressing gender-specific hygiene needs. “Access to menstrual hygiene supplies is fundamental to the health, dignity, and empowerment of girls and women,” the representative stated.
Community leaders and beneficiaries expressed appreciation for the timely support, noting that the initiative will contribute to improved health outcomes and increased confidence among adolescent girls.
